Elder Chester L. McLaurin is a husband and father. His virtuous wife, Rosalyn, four beautiful daughters, Lisa, Angela, Antoinette, and Kelli and two handsome grandsons, Kendall and Christian are dedicated to the Lord and this mighty man of God. Elder McLaurin accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior during his youth at Boosters For Christ Revival Center. After several years of faithful service and his decision to say, “YES” to the call, he was licensed and ordained a minister of the Gospel over 30 years ago. He began ministering faithfully and was later asked to be the youth pastor/assistant pastor at Boosters For Christ. As time progressed, the Lord’s call to Elder McLaurin increased. He called him to be a pastor. Elder McLaurin humbly accepted and on April 1, 1983 Emmanuel BiblE Center opened its doors. In addition to the pastorate, Elder McLaurin is also the president and CEO of Emmanuel Bible Center which is the organization that oversees the church and other ministries of Emmanuel.
While matriculating at Devry Institute of Technology for computers, Pastor McLaurin developed a desire to set up a community computer site where he can educate others on computer literacy. He also has a heartfelt vision for working with AIDS patients, unwed mothers, senior citizens, young people, couples, the community in general, as well as, helping our Black men realize their potential. As a result of such needs, Pastor McLaurin took a leave from his educational pursuit in order to address them.
In 1999, Pastor McLaurin received a spiritual promotion. The Lord was calling him to become a Bishop. On April 8, 2000, he was ordained as a bishop in the Champions for Christ Fellowship of Christian Churches by Apostle Lee McCullough, Little Rock, Arkansas.
In May 2010, after a month long fast coupled with prayer, God revealed to Bishop McLaurin that he was taking Emmanuel in a new direction. As He began to shift the sails of the ministry at Emmanuel He directed Bishop McLaurin to join the United Churches of God In Christ (U.C.O.G.I.C.) under the dynamic leadership of Apostle Aaron B. Lackey, the presiding bishop and Chief Apostle of the United Churches of God in Christ. One night in August God showed Bishop McLaurin through a dream to begin using the charter name of the ministry, Emmanuel Bible Center. Thus, the ministry has been renamed Emmanuel Bible Center United Church of God in Christ.
In addition to being a pastor, Bishop McLaurin is also active in his previous church home, Boosters For Christ under the pastorate of Evang. Mable S. I. Barber, as well as, a youth-focused organization entitled, Youth Unshackled Ministries (or YUM) under the leadership of Evang. Dianna O. Amacker.
Sought and selected, picked and prepared, fashioned by the Holy Word, filled with the Holy Spirit, sanctified and sent by God is Bishop Chester Lee McLaurin, Jr., Poimen (shepherd).
Rosalyn Maureen McLaurin is married
to Bishop Chester L. McLaurin, Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Bible
Center. They have four daughters, Lisa, Angela, Antoinette, and
Kelli and two grandsons, Kendall and Christian.
Upon her marriage to then Brother Chester L. McLaurin in 1966, she left Faith Temple Church of God in Christ and joined Boosters For Christ Revival Center where she served faithfully until the Lord called her husband into the Pastorate in 1983.
In October 1999, Sister McLaurin was licensed to the ministry
and office of Teacher followed by her ordination as Teacher in
April 2000. God later elevated her to the humbling position of
Pastor in April 2005 where she serves under her husband, Bishop
Chester L. McLaurin.
Presently, Pastor McLaurin serves as the church secretary, Christian Education Director, Sunday School Superintendent, adult Sunday School teacher, and President of the Women of Wisdom (Emmanuel Bible Church Women’s Department). In addition, Pastor McLaurin assists her husband in preaching, teaching, Bible and book studies, marriage counseling and other areas as needed.
Pastor McLaurin’s goal is to build up the body of Christ through the ministry of teaching and preaching (Ephesians 4:11) and to share the love of God to a hurting world (Matthew 28:19,20) because God has a plan and purpose that includes everyone and excludes none for Jeremiah 29:11 in the New International Version says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
Pastor Rosalyn Maureen McLaurin is a faithful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is also diligent in her commitment to God and her church. She loves the Lord, her Pastor, and the people of God. Her daily confession is “I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth” because she boldly declares she will not let the devil win!
